Infant Care The thought of being a new mom can be a little scary, especially if you
haven't spent much time around little ones. If you're saying to yourself,
"I don't know the first thing about how to take care of a baby",
our Infant Care class is the one for you. You'll learn how to give your baby
a bath, change diapers and receive a whole host of wonderful advice from one
of our nurse instructors. She understands how you feel and will help you
become more comfortable in your new role as mom. Infant CPR According to generally accepted guidelines, Infant CPR is administered to
any person under the age of 12 months. Learn how to administer CPR to your
infant. Infants, just like children, have a much better chance of survival if
CPR is performed immediately. You'll leave this class feeling more secure
that you can handle an emergency situation if one occurs. H.O.P.E. H-Healthy, O-Options & P-Positive, E-Encouragement. This class
explains our Center's programs and Christian mission. Learn about God's plan
for your life during this mandatory session. Infant/Child Communication Communicating with your infant/child is not always easy. Babies can't
tell you what they want. They show you signs through body language or crying.
This class will help you learn how to recognize them. In addition, you'll
learn sign language for infants and children. Conception and My Changing Body Conception is an amazing, yet complicated process. It's important to
understand how your baby was conceived and all the changes your body will go
through afterwards. We'll talk about
those changes and what you can expect throughout your pregnancy. Breastfeeding Both mothers and babies gain many benefits from breastfeeding. Breast
milk is easy to digest and contains antibodies that can protect infants from
bacterial and viral infections. Formula does not provide the same protection.
Research indicates that women who breastfeed may have lower rates of certain
breast and ovarian cancers. We'll present the benefits of breastfeeding along
with the techniques. Budgeting Starting a family can be difficult financially. A budgeting specialist
will show you how to prepare you own budget, no matter what your income
level, and provide you with some tips for sticking to it. Come and learn how
to manage your money wisely. Steps to Success A good interview is most often the difference between getting that job
you've been wanting or not. We'll provide you with all the tools for success:
how to dress, what to say and how to write a great resume. You'll see what
your future boss is looking for in you by joining us for our next Steps to
Success class. Stress Stress has been around since Adam and Eve were evicted from the Garden of
Eden. In today's world, it can affect us in so many ways. With a new baby,
these stresses can be even greater. We'll present some ways to help you deal
with stress and help you realize you're not alone. Labor and Delivery A labor and delivery nurse will be on hand to present the different
stages of labor and what will happen to you and your baby during this most
incredible process. The thought of labor and delivery can be frightening when
you don't know what to expect. Our class will help you be better prepared for
your first moments of motherhood. |
